About Us
Potters Bar Crusaders was originally formed in the summer of 1947 when a group of boys held a meeting on the pavement in Auckland Road, Potters Bar.
Their name "The Auks" was changed a week later to Crusaders Sports Club, a name that was officially reconised on 3rd February 1948.
The present youth football section was formed in 1978 by Keith Horden and now Club President, John Metselaar. The Home for the club is our clubhouse next to King George V Playing Fields (Furzefield Centre) in Potters Bar. Many social activities based at the clubhouse provide a sound backing for the sporting activity.
The starting point for all our teams is the Saturday morning Soccer School based on the astro turf at the Furzefield Centre. This runs every Saturday from September through to July and is open to boys and girls in school years Reception, 1 and 2.
Our football teams range from under 7's through every age group to adults and have been successful many times in the Rural friendly League, The Chesthunt Youth League, the Mid Herts Rural Minors League and the North and Mid Herts League and the Herts FA County Cup Competitions.
We are proud to have acheived FA Charter Standard Club Status in 2010 and we look forward to providing an opportunity for young people to particpate in the nations favourite game.
We pride ourselves in trying to play the game in the "right" way and encourage good sportmanship at all times.
